Biography

Born in Casablanca in 1942, in France since 1960.

-    Studies : Letters and Foreign Languages at the Sorbonne and at the Oriental Language School
-    From 1966 to 1970 : in charge of reception and external relations for the Tours and Annecy festivals
-    From 1970 to 1986 : manager of the Club 70, a private film theatre
-    Since 1973, in charge of SOGEAV (now named OHRA), a company aimed at producing feature films (“Transes”, “Zeft”, “Hadda”…), promoting Moroccan films (“1001 mains”, “Alyam Alyam”), distributing films in Africa (“Rue cases nègres”, “Bob Marley Exodus”, “Salsa”...), and distributing wordlwide and in cinemas (“Baiser de Tosca”, “Ablakon”…).

Filmography

-    From 1987 to 1992: documentary series “Maroc, Corps et Ame” («Morocco, Body and Soul»), which comprises 11 short films
-    1994 : «Retrouver Ouled Moumen» (To rediscover Ouled Moumen”) (50’). Award at the Historical Film Festival in Pessac
-    1995 : «Concerto pour 13 voix» (90’) and «Voix du Maroc»: 60’ edited from the documentary series «Maroc Corps et Ame»
-    1997 : «Pour le plaisir des yeux...» (For the eyes’ pleasure), et «La route du cédrat, le fruit de la Splendeur» (The road of the citron, fruit of Splendour)
-    1999 : «Tambours Battant» (Brisk Drums) (52’)
-    2001 : «Cyberstories» (30')
-    2002 : Writing of feature film: «Talla»
-    2003 : Publishing of the DVD «Voix du Maroc» (Montparnasse Publisher)
-    2004 : Publishing of 5 DVDs of the series «Maroc, Corps et Ame” (Alpa-Janus)
-    2006/2007 : «Nûba d’or et de lumière» (Nûba of Gold and Light), a musical documentary feature.
-     2008/2009 : in preparation QUEJIO
