En 1988, deux maîtres de musique arabo-andalouse marocaine se rencontrent pour la première fois à Paris, le rabbin Haïm Louk d'Isarël et Abdelsadeq Chekara de Tétouan. Leurs chants s'accordent d'emblée en un genre appelé matruz, pièce brodée.
